On July 29, in today’s Olympic women’s basketball group stage match, Australia lost 62-75 to Nigeria. Australian women’s basketball veteran Lauren Jackson came off the bench to play for 12 minutes, shooting 2-for-4, including 2-for-2 from three-point range, contributing 6 points and 2 rebounds. She also became the oldest basketball player in Olympic history.

Jackson was born in 1981, and at 43 years old this year, she has represented the Australian women’s basketball team in four Olympics, winning three silver medals (2000, 2004, 2008) and one bronze medal (2012).

After missing the two subsequent Olympics, Jackson embarked on her fifth Olympic journey this year. She surpassed Argentine men’s basketball veteran Luis Scola and Spanish women’s basketball veteran Anna Montañana to become the oldest basketball player in Olympic history.
