On July 3rd, according to Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport, four Juventus Ultras displayed a banner insulting former Juventus number 8 player Claudio Marchisio outside the Allianz Stadium, prompting a response from the player on social media.
Two days prior, Marchisio had commented on the relationship between fans and the city of Turin during an appearance on the De Core podcast. He stated, “We have big hearts, but not as warm as those of Roma fans.”
This statement did not sit well with some Juventus supporters, who showed up outside the stadium with a banner reading: “Traitor to Juventus!”
In response, Marchisio took to social media, saying, “I repeat, I don’t care about the content of the banner, but about the gesture of hanging it outside a restaurant.”
