According to UK media outlet “TeamTalk,” Manchester United are hoping to sell veteran Christian Eriksen this summer in order to raise funds. Ajax are interested in re-signing their former player on loan, but they face significant obstacles.
The 32-year-old Eriksen joined Manchester United on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 and has since made 72 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring three goals and providing 13 assists. However, in the second half of the 2023/24 season, Eriksen gradually became a peripheral figure at Manchester United.
This summer, Manchester United have already brought in players like Xerxes and Yoro, and the club is looking to further strengthen other areas of the squad. As such, they are actively selling off surplus players, including Eriksen.
It is understood that Ajax are interested in bringing back their former player to the Eredivisie, but they would prefer to do so on a loan basis, which contradicts Manchester United’s desire for an outright sale to cash in on the player.
