Recently, Argentine football legend Juan Sebastian Veron shared his views on the expansion of the FIFA Club World Cup in an interview.
Veron said: “I believe that the expansion of the FIFA Club World Cup is very important for South American teams, as it gives them more opportunities to play against European sides. It’s a great initiative, so I think it can help South American football grow or, rather, push it to make greater strides.”
Under the plan, the FIFA Club World Cup will be expanded to 32 teams and held every four years like the FIFA World Cup, with 12 spots reserved for European teams and six for South American clubs.
