On June 25, the Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League announced that Alen Stajcic has been appointed as the club’s head coach.
Stajcic previously signed a three-year contract with Perth Glory in 2023 but left after less than a year. A native of Western Sydney, he expressed his intention to turn the Wanderers into a powerhouse during his time at the club.
Said Stajcic, “Returning home and representing the area where you were born and raised is a very special feeling. I am proud of this region, and I want the club to be a source of pride for Western Sydney football and for our members and fans, who have consistently been among the most loyal, passionate, and knowledgeable in the country. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead this great football club.”
Discussing the upcoming season’s objectives, Stajcic stated, “My expectations are high, and my ambitions are even higher, as we aim to bring success to the Wanderers together.”
