On June 29, the Manchester Evening News conducted a poll, with 80% of fans wanting Anthony to leave the club.
Last season in the Premier League, Anthony made 29 appearances for Manchester United, scoring only one goal. He didn’t feature in the final two league matches or the FA Cup final.
The newspaper revealed that a total of 67,673 fans took part in the vote, with 18.25% (12,347) hoping Anthony stays, while the remaining 81.75% (55,326) want him to depart this summer.
It’s worth noting that Manchester United’s issue is not whether to sell but rather who will be interested. With three years left on his contract, Anthony’s underwhelming performances have deterred potential suitors. If he is sold this summer, the club faces a significant financial loss.
