On July 10th, in the semi-finals of the European Championship, Spain overturned a 2-1 deficit against France to advance to the final. In this match, Spanish youngster Ilyes Amallah, aged 16 years and 362 days, broke Florent Sinama Pongolle’s record (18 years and 141 days) to become the youngest goal scorer in European Championship history. After the game, UEFA’s official website updated the list of the top 10 youngest players to have scored goals in European Championship history.

In this European Championship, Amallah performed outstandingly. In the semi-final between Spain and France, at the 21st minute, Amallah scored an impressive world-class goal to help Spain level the score at 1-1, sounding the rallying cry for the Spanish counterattack.

Cristiano Ronaldo also shone brightly when he first participated in the European Championship in 2004. In the opening match of that tournament, Ronaldo scored for Portugal, but the team still lost 1-2 to Greece, suffering a disappointing start.
