On August 20th, this afternoon, the Chinese Paris Olympic delegation held a summary meeting. Zheng Qinwen, in an interview with the media, expressed that the spirit of sports is about challenging oneself to be the best, there’s no need to necessarily compete with others.
Zheng Qinwen said, “I believe that the younger generation looking at the world on equal terms also represents China’s progress. Only by viewing the world on equal terms can you bring out the strongest version of yourself.”
“I believe the spirit of sports is about challenging oneself to be the best, being faster and stronger. However, the spirit of sports does not necessarily mean competing with others, but doing one’s best within one’s capabilities. Not disappointing oneself, I believe, is what the spirit of sports is all about.”
According to the schedule, after participating in the summary meeting, Zheng Qinwen will return to the United States to participate in the US Open tournament taking place at the end of this month.
