PRAYA – A total of 111 metric tons of logistics for the MotoGP riders have arrived at Lombok International Airport in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) ahead of the Mandalika MotoGP event scheduled for October 13-15, 2023.

“The logistics were transported by a Boeing 747-800F aircraft from Japan’s Narita airline, flight number KZ6231,” said Rahmat Adil Indrawan, the CEO of Lombok Praya Airport, as quoted by ANTARA on Tuesday, October 3rd.

The plane carried goods in the form of vehicles and spare parts for the 2023 MotoGP racers. After being unloaded from the aircraft, the logistics were then transported by 13 freight trucks to the Mandalika circuit.

“Starting tonight, the MotoGP 2023 logistics have begun arriving at Lombok Airport. This year, there are plans for up to four logistic flights through Lombok Airport, with a total cargo of around 400 tons,” he said.

Following Nepal Cargo Airlines, there will be three more flights from Narita to Lombok. On Wednesday (April 10), two freighters are expected to arrive, namely Atlas Air’s Boeing 747-400F and Nippon Cargo Airlines’ Boeing 747-800F.

The last one on Thursday (October 5) will be Atlas Air’s Boeing 747-400F returning.

“We hope the entire cargo handling process goes smoothly. We are also preparing to welcome MotoGP 2023 riders, crews, officials, and spectators. In general, the infrastructure, facilities, and personnel at Lombok Airport are ready to support the 2023 MotoGP event at the Mandalika circuit,” Adil stated.

Regarding additional flights to Lombok Airport during the MotoGP 2023, so far, four airlines have proposed extra flights on 44 domestic routes.

“Garuda Indonesia has submitted an additional 26 flights, Citilink eight flights, SuperJet Airways four flights, and AirAsia six flights for the period between October 10-17, 2023,” he added.
