Jakarta – The Silverstone Circuit will continue to host the British Grand Prix until 2034. Previously, the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC), as operator and owner under the F1 Liberty Media Group, signed a contract valued at approximately $37 million annually.

“I am delighted to announce that the British Grand Prix will remain on the calendar for the next decade,” Formula 1 President Stefano Domenicali said, quoting AFP, on Thursday, August 2nd, local time.

Silverstone, in Northamptonshire, has been staging the World Championship since 1950, with the English Grand Prix being part of the F1 schedule for over 70 years.

The 5.9-kilometer track, featuring 18 turns, including eight left-handers and ten right-handers, set a record of 150,000 spectators when Max Verstappen won the race last year.

Stuart Pringle, CEO of Silverstone, added, “For each team competing, and especially for the English teams, there’s a unique atmosphere at Silverstone.”

“The home-field advantage, particularly the support for British drivers on the grid, creates a special energy at Silverstone,” he said.

Pringle further explained, “This long-term commitment demonstrates the significance of the British Grand Prix to F1 and their recognition of our ability to provide world-class experiences.”

The British Grand Prix will take place at Silverstone on July 7th. The 2024 F1 season will commence on March 2nd in Bahrain.
