MotoGP 2024: KTM Factory Teams in Moto2 and Moto3

On March 4, KTM unveiled their new team liveries for the FIM GP World Championship in the 2024 season, competing in both the Moto2 and Moto3 categories.

In the upcoming season, KTM’s factory teams in both classes will be run by AJO. Over the past four years, KTM has dominated with their upgraded Moto3 factory bike, the RC4, securing two consecutive world championships (2020 and 2021) – GASGAS claimed the title in 2022. During this period, KTM AJO won three Moto2 titles in a row (2021-2023) and contributed to the development of at least six riders into MotoGP.

In Moto2, KTM AJO will field a Kalex chassis with Italian rider Celestino Vietti, No. 13, who has VR46 training experience, and Turkish rider Deniz Oncu, No. 53, who is transitioning from Moto3.

In the Moto3 category, KTM’s factory bike remains the RC4, with KTM AJO’s lineup featuring two 18-year-old Spanish racers: Xabi Zurutuza, No. 85, making his World Championship debut, and Jose Antonio Rueda, No. 99.

Zurutuza, set to begin his GP career in 2024, showcased exceptional talent in last year’s FIM Junior World Championship, which piqued KTM’s interest. However, due to him not turning eighteen until April, he will miss the opening races in Qatar (March 8-10) and Portugal (March 22-24). He will officially join the action at the third round in the United States (April 12-14). In his absence, Spanish rider Vicente Perez will temporarily fill in for him at the first two events.
