Jakarta – Italian MotoGP team Gresini Racing continues its partnerships with the government and private companies or sponsors in Indonesia. This is proof that they have a significant fan base in the country.

“It’s about the emotional relationship we have with our large fan base here in Indonesia,” said Carlo Merlini, Communications & Marketing Director of Gresini Racing, during the team’s launch event in Jakarta on Saturday, February 3rd.

Merlini was addressing questions about why Gresini Racing’s management continues its collaborations with several Indonesian government and private parties.

He explained that his party has been partnering with some Indonesian entities since 2012. To date, it still collaborates with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia and several sponsors such as Wonderful Indonesia, Federal Oil, Aspira, Antangin, MS Glow, and Bold Riders.

Saying that Gresini Racing, as an Italian MotoGP team, could basically fund its own development, Merlini chose to partner with Indonesia due to the significant support from fans there.

The team’s large following from Indonesia is evident in the number of followers on their official Instagram account, with the majority hailing from the country.

“So we enjoy this, the emotional connection with all the fans. I thank them all for being part of Gresini,” he stated.

Carlo hopes that the Ducati satellite team, along with the Marquez brothers, Marc and Alex Marquez, will provide excitement for the fans through the results of the 2024 MotoGP season. He mentioned that besides the fans, his team has many trusted sponsors in Indonesia who have been with them through thick and thin.

“So it’s a story of loyalty. I want to thank everyone for their trust and for staying connected with the team,” he expressed.

The Gresini Racing MotoGP team, led by owner Nadia Padovani and the two riders, Marc Marquez and Alex Marquez, inaugurated the Gresini Racing Conference in Jakarta, with Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno present as a partner.
