In the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix qualifying, Red Bull’s Verstappen secured pole position with a lap time of 1:10.727. Ferrari’s Leclerc and Aston Martin’s Stroll followed in second and third place respectively. The remaining positions from fourth to tenth were occupied by Alonso, Hamilton, Russell, Norris, Sainz, Perez, and Piastri. Russell was penalized two places for slow exit from the pit lane, while Zhou Guanyu struggled, finishing in 20th.
In Q1, tight margins saw multiple drivers attempt soft tires. Eliminated at this stage were Kvyat, Ricciardo, Bottas, Sargent, and Zhou. After a strong showing in the previous race, both Alfa Romeo drivers were knocked out in Q1 this time around.
In Q2, most drivers completed two flying laps. Eliminated were Hulkenberg, Ocon, Gasly, Magnussen, and Albon. Gasly and Ocon were penalized for blocking at the exit, which allowed Magnussen and Albon to advance.
The situation changed dramatically in Q3. With the first flying laps completed, a sudden rain shower hit, reducing visibility. The race was red-flagged due to poor conditions, ending the qualifying early. The Martin drivers took advantage of their track position, securing P3 and P4.
