Haas Reveals 2024 Race Car Images, Kicking Off Launch Season

The Haas F1 Team has unveiled the design of its 2024 car, the VF-24, officially starting the new season’s car launch festivities.

The 2024 season marks the third under the ground-effect regulations, and Haas is looking to bounce back after two challenging seasons, particularly finishing at the bottom of the standings last year.

While retaining Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg as its driver lineup, the team has undergone significant structural changes. At the start of this year, Haas announced that Guenther Steiner would no longer serve as team principal, with the role taken over by Koji Hasegawa, the team’s former trackside engineering director, aiming for a more engineering-focused approach to manage on-track operations and boost performance. Additionally, the American outfit promoted Andrea de Cesaris to chief designer, replacing technical director Simonassi Resta who left at the end of last year.

Visually, the VF-24 renders show little change from its predecessor, the VF-23, still prominently featuring the team’s title sponsor, MoneyGram.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the VF-24 in action and I know our partners and the entire team share that sentiment,” said team owner Gene Haas. “With Nico Hülkenberg and Kevin Magnussen behind the wheel, we know we have a talented pair of drivers to pilot the car and their experience will be invaluable throughout our ongoing development process. We used the off-season to put processes in place to improve and ultimately enhance our overall performance. We’ll soon see how effective they’ve been.”

The VF-24 will make its on-track debut on February 11th at Silverstone. Hasegawa, in his first outing as team principal, maintains a “realistic” outlook on the new car.

“Our expectations for the VF-24 are very realistic, but it’s always an exciting moment when an F1 car is revealed,” said the Japanese team manager. “There’s still a lot of work to do to progress and enhance our performance, but everyone is motivated and eager to get the VF-24 on track.”

“I know we’ll maximize our time in Bahrain, working through the various projects we need to advance. All in all, we can’t wait to kick off the new season.”
